The International Order of Job's Daughters is meant to band together young women that have masonic relationship. Job's Daughters teaches respecto of elders and parents, respect of flag and country, and respect of home and community. A girl with proper masonic relationship who believes in a Supreme Being, that has a good moral charecter, and is between the ages of 11 and 20 are eligable for Job's Daughters. Job's Daughters is the only Masonic youth organization that requires Masonic relationship. This preresiquite keeps us closely tied with our heritage. The Order is based on the Bible, especially Job 42:15 which reads, "In all the land where no women found so fair as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren." The members of the Order affectionatly call the meeting place a "Bethel", which means Holy Place. Like boy scout "pacs", we are organized into seperate Bethels, our Bethel number is 7, which means we were the seventh Bethel to be chartered in the state of Oregon.

In Bethel, we have so much fun! Dances, movie nights, bowling, ice skating, lazer tag, softball, basketball, and trips to the beach are always on our "to do" list. Also, every year, we go to the state convention called Grand Session, where we have compitions such as cooking, sewing, performing arts (singing, dancing, monologues, etc) and team dance compitions. In Bethel, we are never bored! One year, during the summer, we even went to Australia!

Visiting the Masonic and Eastern Star Home (MESH)
|
Job's Daughters also stresses the importance of community service. We routinly visit a Masonic nursing home called MESH, which stands for the Masonic and Eastern Star Home. The people at MESH appreciate it when we visit them, and some tell great stories!
